The beginning
Why we Began
The flooring industry is dominated by standardised, high volume providers, where a floor is one transaction among many. Origin was founded to occupy a different position. One defined by craftsmanship, by considered specification, and by an understanding that what lies beneath your feet shapes the entire feeling of a space.
Across years spent in the trade we saw the same pattern repeatedly. Flooring treated as an afterthought, chosen late in the process and driven by price rather than purpose. We started Origin to build the kind of business we would want to deal with ourselves, founded on genuine relationships, honest advice and products that hold their quality over a long life. Somewhere a project matters, whether it is a forever home, a single room or a large scale development.

Where the Knowledge Comes From
Knowledge of this kind is not gathered quickly. Across more than twenty years, our team has worked in retail, in insurance, in importing, and in the delivery of large scale residential and commercial projects across Australia. Our General Manager began his career as an installer and is now called on to speak at industry expos and to facilitate training. Our directors work in the business daily. That range matters, because advice about how a floor will perform is only as good as the experience standing behind it.
